Longtime Crossroads developer, 3D Development, who is redeveloping The Kansas City Star’s historic newsroom is adding the game lounge and social bar Ricochet to the ongoing Grand Place project in 2025.

Ricochet, based out of  Des Moines, is planned to open their first location in Kansas City with a 11,000-square-foot space in the Grand Place redevelopment in the first quarter of 2025. Ricochet’s Iowa location offers a curated mix of free and premium parlor games for visitors 21 and up, including foosball, table tennis, shuffleboard, billiards, bumper pool and steel-tip darts, in a vibrant social atmosphere with a full-service bar that features local craft beers and cocktails.

“We are very excited to bring our concept to Kansas City, the Crossroads area and especially Grand Place,” said Ricochet co-founder Brad Argo, who will spearhead the business’ local expansion alongside hospitality expert Mike Utley, in a Thursday release. “The area, architecture and energy checked all the boxes for Ricochet and as we’re expanding through the Midwest, our second location is key for our long-term success. That being said, once we saw the plans for Grand Place, we knew we had found a home in Kansas City.”

Ricochet will join occupants Tria Health, which moved into new offices there earlier this summer, and BOK Financial, which finished a branch outside last fall.

“Ricochet’s arrival is a significant addition to Grand Place,” 3D Development founder Vince Bryant said in the release. “While our focus has primarily been on office space, the upcoming food hall and market will benefit greatly from Ricochet’s presence, offering an exceptional experience for both tenants and KC residents.”

Suzie Aron of Aron Real Estate and Rollie Fors of CBRE co-represented 3D Development in the transaction.
